Lecture on ‘Interviewing Skill’ organized by GCOE Jammu
JAMMU, May 26:
The Career Guidance Counseling
and Placement Cell of Government College of Education, Jammu, organized lecture
on “Interviewing Skill’ for the students of B Ed and M Ed course of the
college. The lecture was delivered by Shagun Choudhury, MBA student from Business
School, University of Jammu. She has wide experience in facing interview of
reputed multinational concerns and also got selected in the same. She
highlighted key issues every potential candidate must follow while facing an
interview. The Principal of the college, Prof Kaushal Smotra, addressed the
gathering and said that entry in the job field was becoming complex day by day.
It demands not only knowledge competence but also mastery of all round
professional skill of the candidate, including presentation, proficiency and
presence of mind, she added. Convener of the Placement Cell, Dr Neelam Dhar
presented the keynote address and highlighted the importance of ‘mock
interview’ which play an essential role to familiarize candidates to face
interview situation and identify their strength and weakness. Senior faculty
member Prof C L Shivgotra from the Department of Education also addressed the
gathering. Lecture of the resource person was followed by ‘mock interview’
session where the M Ed students participated as interviewer and the B Ed
students participated as interviewee. The session was a good learning
experience for the students. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr
Piyali Arora, convener Career Guidance and Counseling Cell and the whole program
was covered by Kokela Kohle, B Ed student of the college
